“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” -Psalms 95:6

Kaf Hei Tav (Hebrew is read backwards) is the eighth name of God in the 72 Kabbalistic names of God. It is a meditation and mantra for defusing negative energy and stress. On a personal level this may be used for cleaning or renewal. When used as a Priesthood ordnance, it may be used for comfort, cleansing and exorcisms. It draws on the purifying Light of Christ to cleans, restore, and refresh.

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” -Revelation 21:3

Dr. Michelle G. Wiener has written an excellent paper on the temple and unity. As her paper points out, the four traditional methods of unifying the Saints, “(1) Faith and Order, (2) Life and Work, (3) Common missionary efforts, and (4) A renewed  commitment to theological education,” historically fall flat repeatedly. Why? Maybe it is because all of these share the same focus: human egoism. It is the “mysticism” of the temple that allows for personal interpretation and personal growth that will ultimately lead to Christian unity.

Then answered Jesus saying unto them: Verily, verily, I say unto you: The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. -John 5:19

This is a famous scripture in Brighamite Mormonism within the Latter Day Saint movement, I was always taught growing up that this referred to God the Father once being a human man. Jesus somehow saw the Father live His mortal life, and was doing the same. This idea never fully made sense to me for several reasons, but primarily because I was also taught that Jesus was created as a spirit baby after the Father’s mortality. Speaking to a friend this week I was enlightened to a new way of understanding this scripture, and in turn all scriptures.

In Mormon Kabbalah, these letters are used for spiritual communication in ways that do not require one to be fluent in the language. These letters help us gain a direct spiritual communication going beyond mere words. Meditation with the letters is a common practice in Kabbalah to help facilitate spiritual growth.

“And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.” -Romans 11:26-27

I have some insights that have been given to me, not just to me alone, as I will share my experience regarding this concerning Rosh Chodesh. Prefacing what I want to share about the instruction given concerning Rosh Chodesh, I write this to make some suggestions about how the service should be observed according to what is written about in the scriptures, particularly in light of what is presented in the Sealed Book of Mormona coming to us from Brazil. This is an area I have particular interest, and I have taken to heart with serious study and prayer concerning what is being given. I am moved  to present my case about what I observe that could be improved regarding how we handle this going forward.
