I’ve seen a number of posts on social media basically stating that God murders children. The idea is that when Jesus was crucified, the cities in the New World that were destroyed meant that innocent children were killed as well. At one point another gentleman, a faithful Latter-day Saint, pointed out that the same thing happened with the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in defense of the cities destroyed in the Book of Mormon. However, this really misses the point of the scripture.

The following revelation was given through David in Ohio on January 11, 2018. David was studying the 132nd section of the Latter-day Saints’ Doctrine and Covenants, and upon reading the last verse he prayed to know when we would reveal more unto us as promised. He was told the two revelations given on April 18, 2016 were answers to that promise and given further information. This revelation was voted and accepted as scripture by the Council of Elders of the Fellowship January 5, 2019. We ask members of the Fellowship to read this revelation prayerfully to determine if it should be added to the Fellowship canon in preparation of the vote April 6, 2019.
Revelation through Joesph Smith Jr. to James Strang
The letter and revelation by Joseph Smith Jr. to James Strang. Emma Smith verified that Joseph Smith Jr. write the letter. And, The handwriting was verified by the firm,Tyrell and Doud, who stated: “A brief observation of these four documents indicates that the education and word usage was consistent with the theory that all four documents were authored by one individual” (Shepard, William 1977; James J. Strang: Teachings of a Mormon Prophet. Burlington, WI).

The following vision was received by Joseph Smith Jr. July 12, 1843 in Nauvoo, Illinois. From the diary of Joseph Smith Jr.: “Wednesday, July 12. Received a Revelation in the office in presence of Hyrum Smith, and William Clayton.”

The following vision was received by Joseph Smith Jr. January 21, 1836 in Kirtland, Ohio, recorded in his September 1835–April 1836 journal on pages 135-139 in the handwriting of Warren Parrish. It was shortened and altered before being included in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Doctrine and Covenants.
